In Season: September
Although the days may be shorter and the trees have started turning, September is a truly abundant month for food.
If you're fortunate enough to be able to enjoy the great British countryside, you'll see hay bales rolled and resting in the fields and blackberries growing in the hedgerows.
For anyone living in the city, early autumn is a great time for some urban foraging. Apple trees are weighed down with fruit (hello, apple crumble!), and you'll find herbs such as sorrel and mint lining paths and roadways.
