Supplier Spotlight: High Weald Dairy
Award-winning cheeses made on a family-owned West Sussex Farm
Set in the farm’s former grain store, a small team of expert cheesemakers carry out every stage of the High Weald cheese-making process from pasteurization to packaging.
This cheese-making heritage has its origins in the 1980s when Guy and Audrey Hardy established a flock of 150 British Friesland sheep for milking at their farm in Duddleswell. They supplied bottles of fresh milk to health shops before beginning to make their own yoghurt and eventually, cheeses.
As the business grew, they began taking both sheep and cow’s milk from other farms, meaning they could make enough cheese to maintain suppliers throughout the year. By this time, Guy and Audrey’s son Mark and his wife Sarah were slowly taking over the business.
Today, their 270-acre farm is located in Horsted Keynes and is home to 250 organic dairy cows. With their dedicated team they make 15 cheeses which we are OsoProud to offer to you.
