In Season: March
Early spring marks a real turning point in the seasonal calendar. As early spring flowers start to poke through, the UK’s veg crop starts to offer more variety.
The first pick to add to your basket is purple sprouting broccoli, which is soon to fall out of season. Serve on the side of Pork Belly or bake into a gratin with crunchy green kale and sliced leeks.
Fruit is less plentiful here in the UK but imported bananas, kiwis and oranges will add some tropical sunshine to slightly cloudier days.
